Silicone rubbers belong to the family of vulcanisable elastomers according to the principle of addition-crosslinking.

The characteristics of silicone make it suitable for the medical and alimentary sector because it does not contain toxic or aggressive components.

Silicone is endowed with the following properties:

  • Thermal stability in a range between -50 and +240°C;
  • Mechanical and electrical constancy;
  • Stability in relation to atmospheric agents and aging;
  • High electrical isolation;
  • In case of fire it does not release toxic gases;
  • Neutral odour;
  • Compliant to FDA 21 CFR177.2600 and USP Class VI.
